Meet the Instructors

  • Matt Ducktt

    Matt Duckett is an accomplished fine artist and freelance illustrator. Duckett’s art explores themes of displacement and identity, particularly resonating through his poignant reflections on disaster-ravaged communities in the Philippines. Internationally exhibited and featured in distinguished publications, Duckett’s diverse portfolio ranges from indie publisher book covers to card games and splash art, skillfully marrying tradition with modern design. Beyond his creative work, he actively contributes to arts communities via nonprofits, artist incubators, and arts boards. His art goes beyond mere aesthetics, linking cultures, histories, and shared resilience, challenging viewers’ perceptions of identity and tradition. Duckett holds an MFA in Painting from the Laguna College of Art and Design and a BA in Fine Art from the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse.

  • Miles Yoshida

    Miles Yoshida stands out as a master draftsman and sculptor. Currently rooted in New York's vibrant art scene and now based in Long Beach, CA, his works shine a spotlight on the nuanced interplay of Light, Form, and Volume. Renowned for his intricate ink drawings—particularly those capturing hands and portraits—Miles is deeply inspired by iconic artists like Katsushika Hokusai, Tsuguharu Foujita, Da Vinci, Rubens, Michelangelo, and Albrecht Durer. His dedication and talent led to a significant exhibit at The Lodge Gallery in New York City in 2016, where he shared the stage with esteemed artists like Steven Assael and Nicolás Sánchez. Now, with this workshop, he's set to share his rich expertise, guiding enthusiasts into the mesmerizing realm of watercolor portraiture.

  • Catherine Bobkoski

    Catherine Bobkoski is a Los Angeles-based painter who works in a still life and figurative manner. She has studied both drawing and painting at The Watts Atelier in Encinitas. California and later at Grand Central Academy and New York University in New York City. She has also studied with many inspiring artists along the way, including Daniel Keys, Dustin Van Wechel, and Vadim Zang. She is a sought-after painting instructor with over ten years of experience and teaches at many art schools throughout Southern California. Catherine has had work exhibited nationally, including at the Oil Painters of America 2021 National Juried Exhibition.
